As part of Southend's transformation I supported their journey from a failing Council in 2005/6 to winning ‘Council of the Year 2012’.

During this period the organisation delivered its £66m savings programme without cutting services, increased employee engagement and reduced the number of days taken sick down to six, well below the public sector national average of 8.7 at the time(13/14).

In a 2015 LGA Peer review the visiting Chief Executive commented 'our employees engagement was 'second to none’ and  ‘they were blown away by our people’s passion and commitment to the town’.

• RoSPA Level 5 Platinum status. 

• Investors in People Silver, then Gold.
