I have had very broad experience across different local authorities, often working in curious areas and in innovative ways.
Covering a wide range of service areas (residential care, mental health rehabilitation, assistive technology) and of course most recently leading award winning organisational development programmes I have had a rich background in public service.
Frequently working closely in partnership with
NHS colleagues, I was struck by how often
within our own organisation we often didn't work
as well together as we did with them.
In 2006 I was recruited into a new team delivering
Organisational Development (O.D.) in Southend on
Sea Borough Council to address this (and ultimately
many other) issues.
Trained within the IDeA OD development programme I began delivering a
wide range of projects to change the culture and improve performance in Southend. I was then promoted to lead the OD offer and as other reduced training budgets I was given a new training centre to run.
With post graduate qualifications in both Business
Improvement and Coaching I'm keen to wed academic
rigour and robustness with humour and humanity.
I have genuine respect for the wellbeing of people
and am strong advocate of promoting health initiatives.
Over the last 12 years I've developed and honed my
OD skills and experience by assisting other councils
e.g. Dacorum, Havering and Tendring with various
transformational projects and events.
This has ultimately fuelled my appetite to now offer
